Child Psychoanalysis Committee

Friedman, M.D., ChairThe committee on Child Analysis is a Standing Committee of the Education Committee and offers several courses in Psychological Development during the Adult Psychoanalytic Training. These include courses in Infancy and Early Childhood, and in the periods of Pre-Oedipal, Oedipal, Latency, Prepuberty and Puberty, Adolescence and Early Adult development. In addition the Child Analysis committee teaches a course on the relevance of Child Analysis to Adult Analysis, which includes an introduction to the Child Analytic Literature and practice. Should students choose to take on a child analytic patient during their adult training, the Child Analysis Committee offers supervision with a child analyst. In addition, the Child Analysis committee is in the process of planning for a future Child and Adolescent Analytic Training Program.
