Richard M. Gottlieb, M.D.
Richard M. Gottlieb is a Training and Supervising Psychoanalyst at the Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute and serves on the faculty of the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. He is Associate Editor for Clinical Studies of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association and Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
Dr. Gottlieb has maintained clinical practices in New York City and Sharon, Connecticut for more than 30 years and specializes in the areas of adult and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapy and counseling, psychopharmacology, and psychoanalysis. He has lectured widely, within the United States and abroad and published scholarly articles in all of the major psychiatric and psychoanalytic journals. His work has been recognized by the New York Psychoanalytic Institute’s Heniz Hartmann Award, the American Psychoanalytic Association’s Edith Sabshin Teaching Award, and the Journal Prize of the Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association.
